Today In Medical History – January 9

(1878) American psychologist John B. Watson was born. He is known for developing the psychological school of behaviorism, an approach to understanding human behavior.

(1893) Canadian soldier and educator Edwin Baker was born. He is known for co-founding the  Canadian National Institute for the Blind.

(1922) Indian-American biochemist Har Gobind Khorana was born. He shared the 1968 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine for his research, which showed that the order of nucleotides controls the cell’s production of proteins.
