(1) (1780) French physician François Carlo Antommarchi is born. He is most famously known for being Napoleon’s physician from 1818 to 1821, and concluding his death was due to stomach cancer.
(2) (1860) French physician Mathieu Jaboulay is born. He made fome of the first attempts at performing kidney transplants in humans suffering from chronic kidney failure, using kidneys from goats and pigs.
(3) (1862) American-British bacteriologist George Nuttall is born. He is known for his investigations of the relationship between the distribution of mosquitoes in England and the presence of malaria.
